We are thrilled to share that we are partnering with Care@Work by Care.com for our NEW family care benefits. We know that caring for your family while you work can be a challenge. We know that life is unpredictable, so to help alleviate some these unexpected challenges, we are providing you with family care benefits to help meet these needs.
Effective September 15, 2020, UMass Chan Medical School will offer the following benefits to all eligible residents/fellows.
Back-up Care for Children
Backup Care for Children: Access to in-home or in-center vetted and subsidized care for your children when your regular care is not available. Use your Backup Care days for school or daycare closures, last-minute sitter cancellations, and more.
- You have a total of 10 days of Backup Care/year to use.
- Backup Care co-pays are as follows:
- Benefit year: 9/15/2021 - 9/14/2022
- $0/hr for in-home child care
- $0/day for in-center child care

Personal Network Back-up Care
Personal Network Backup Care: When your regular care isn’t available, you may prefer to use one of your go-to sitters or centers. With Personal Network Backup Care, you can have a family member, neighbor, friend, or regular sitter watch your child(ren) and get reimbursed for a portion of the cost.

Membership
Each resident/fellow is eligible to enroll and utilize the Care.com online membership, the largest online community for finding and managing care.
Use your care membership to find:
- Nannies and babysitters
- Senior caregivers
- Housekeepers
- Pet sitters and groomers
- Special needs caregivers
- Errand runners
- Tutors

You will use your Employee ID to register and make sure to download the Care@Work mobile app to quickly request Back-up Care!
