The Doxsey Laboratory is a multinational team dedicated to understanding aspects of cell division, with a focus on mitotic spindle organization and function. We are currently interested in understanding the functions of two non-membranous organelles required for cell division, the centrosome/spindle pole and the mid body. To achieve these goals, we utilize a number of experimental systems including in vitro cell culture and, more recently, in vivo mouse models of disease. Research strategies used in our lab include cell biology, biochemistry, super-resolution microscopy and gene editing.
