UMass Medical School Department of Emergency Medicine
Who Are We?
We are an academic department of Emergency Medicine which provides emergency medical care at the many of the emergency departments of UMass Memorial Healthcare as well as prehospital care through Worcester EMS and UMass Memorial LifeFlight.
Residency
The Emergency Medicine Residency Training Program at the University of Massachusetts Medical School is a fully accredited 3-year residency, approved by the Residency Review Committee for Emergency Medicine since 1986. Twelve candidates are accepted into the program each year.

Overdose Prevention Fund
Launched in August 2016, the new Overdose Prevention Fund at the University of Massachusetts Medical School will power a major academic effort in research, education, and community-based interventions against the overdose epidemic that remains the leading cause of preventable death in the United States.
