Storage Location:

REDCap:

REDCap is a secure web application for building and managing online surveys and databases. It is specifically geared to support online or offline data capture for research studies and operations. UMMS is a member of the REDCap Consortium (http://project-redcap.org). REDCAP is used at UMMS for collection of data for research, quality and operations projects. Our REDCap implementation supports 2344 projects and 930 users.

UMMS Network Drives (R Drives):

UMMS IT can procure an encrypted network drive suitable for storing and internally sharing sensitive data. Please contact the Help Desk @ helpdesk@umassmed.edu or (508) 856-8643 to obtain an R: Drive for your research study.

Cloud Storage:

UMMS IT will be making available Microsoft One Drive for use in storing identifiable research data.

Do not store research data in the following locations:

• On your desktop or laptop
• In Dropbox (or other non-approved cloud storage)
• Unencrypted thumb drives
• External hard drives
