Overview

  •   Provide scientific advice and expertise to benefit our community
  •   Train students of all ages in scientific methods
  •   Lend a helping hand to improve our world

In the BMP department, we are dedicated to providing scientific advice, expertise and training that will help foster a public understanding of the importance of science for building a better world. BMP faculty have hosted many high school and college students in their laboratories, providing critical scientific training. Several BMP faculty, students and staff have participated in additional outreach experiences including judging local middle school and high school science fairs, and participating in Science Nights at elementary schools. Our graduate Team BMP walks in the Cancer Walk every September in memory of our dear friend and colleague Kai Lin as well as in memory and support of other friends and family members. BMP graduate students lend a helping hand in a variety of community outreach programs including Habitat for Humanity and Thanksgiving food drives.  Check the BMP calendar as well as this webpage for current events and programs to reach out to our local town and communities.
