Call for Nominations for Chancellor’s Award for Advancing Institutional Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion

The diverse and unique perspectives that faculty and staff bring to UMass Chan Medical School have helped make us a leading academic health sciences center. The Diversity and Inclusion Office is pleased to announce nominations are now being accepted for the 2022 Chancellor’s Award for Advancing Institutional Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion.

The Chancellor’s Award for Advancing Institutional Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion is bestowed annually upon an individual or group exemplifying characteristics embodied in the Medical School’s diversity statement, which is outlined in the nomination form. One-page nomination submissions are due to the Diversity and Inclusion Office by Friday, Jan. 14.

To ensure that each candidate is evaluated on the same documentation, summaries in excess of one page will not be considered. A selection committee comprising past award recipients will review all the nominations and choose finalists to advance to the chancellor, who will select the award recipient(s). The institutional award will be presented at the Medical School’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration on Jan. 24.

We are fortunate to work with many individuals who advance our diversity and inclusion goals and who uphold the values of civility. We encourage you to nominate deserving colleagues. Any questions may be directed to the Diversity and Inclusion Office at 508-856-2179 or diversity@umassmed.edu.
