Welcome to The Committee on Scientific and Research Affairs

The Committee on Scientific and Research Affairs (CSRA; formerly Scientific Council) is the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) faculty body for monitoring and evaluating all activities relating to research conducted in or administered through the Medical School.  The primary purpose of the CSRA is to represent and advocate for research faculty and programs.  As such, the CSRA serves in an advisory capacity to the Chancellor and the Dean of the School of Medicine, and reports to the Chancellor, the Faculty Council, the Executive Council, and the Student Government Alliance.  In support of its constituency, the CSRA promotes the quality and relevance of the research infrastructure critical to the success of investigators, including the research core facilities.
